Hey guys and gals,
There’s a lot of things I don’t like about my theme, but I’m not a theme guy, stylesheets are not my friend. 1000Notes has about a dozen people working for this blogging enterprise, we have someone who’s in charge of marketing and several people in charge of the actual blogging, a person who’s job is to create brand new content (not every blog under the 1000Notes umbrella is only concerned with reblogging posts with 1,000+ notes, you know), and of course we have me, the president, and my job is to tell people what to do and figure out how to pass the blame if my ideas are massive failures. With all these people doing all these jobs, why not have someone who’s responsible for theme design?
So here’s the deal. I am looking for someone who will first of all clean up all of the themes on the blogs currently in the network (you really only need to fix one, I can apply those fixes to the rest of the blogs myself). After that, I need you to basically be available to fix or change anything at the drop of a hat, or to create a whole new theme from scratch for any new blogs we’ll be running.
The person selected will be paid for their initial work with 3 network wide promotions (that means you’ll be promoted to 2 million people over 7 blogs). After that, you’ll receive one promotion per week for the duration of your association with 1000Notes. You may also add a credit at the bottom of each blog. In addition, you’ll receive the bragging rights of being THE theme designer for 1000Notes, the largest network on Tumblr, and you’ll be able to claim as much on whatever resume you produce in the future. You can also have an @1000notes.com email address, and place a blog of your choice on the 1000notes.com domain (ex: yourblog.1000notes.com). If you care to do those things, that’s up to you. Personally I would do it because it would be cool and make me feel like I’m really a part of 1000Notes and partly responsible for the growth of the company (which you certainly will be).
To apply, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and include some details about what makes you a good candidate. Let me see a theme you’ve built, tell me what kind of experience you have with themes, that sort of thing. I sincerely hope to have you on board as a member of the 1000Notes team very soon :).
